Jethro Tulls Second album from 1969. This is another early record I bought probably in the early 70’s and was stolen in 1980 from the house on Pyle St. in Wilmington. This is a 2017 Steven Wilson remix with a faithful reproduction of the original gatefold cover with the pop-up picture of the band. It comes with a 24 page album sized booklet with photos and extensive early history of the band and the making of the record. A record where every song is excellent. “Fat Man” and “Bouree”, their take on a piece by Bach, got significant airplay on the radio. “A New Day Yesterday”, “Nothing Is Easy”, “Back To The Family” and “Look Into The Sun”, the guitar on that one is so Jefferson Airplane, are my favorites. Reading some of the booklet I learned that Tony Iommi, who was in a band called Earth, later to be named Black Sabbath, was their choice to replace Mick Abrahams who left after the first record. Iommi did not work out and they eventually hired Martin Barre. The record sounds great. I didn’t notice any changes in Wilson’s remix except more up front bass on “A New Day Yesterday”.
