Another Record Store Day Release. From 2021, this is a limited edition 2 record set, on orange vinyl, that includes the EP Nude which has 6 Catherine Wheel songs done acoustically. Rob Dickinson was the lead singer and guitarist of Catherine Wheel that broke up in 2000 and is the cousin of Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson. Originally released in 2005 this is his only solo album to date. The songs are mostly acoustic. First time listening to this and it all sounds pretty good. Marty Wilson-Piper of The Church provides a guitar solo on “Oceans”. “Towering And Flowering” is another more electric song. “Mutineer” is a short song by Warren Zevon. The acoustic Catherine Wheel songs are also good playing some of my favorites like “Black Metallic”, “I Want To Touch You”, “Ma Solituda” and “Crank”. I did see him on tour in 2006 when he opened for The Church. I’m sure he played many of these songs but nothing sounded familiar. I do remember him playing a few Catherine Wheel songs though.
