Not a fan of Rap and Hip-Hop but I do have two records of that kind of music I will listen to today and tomorrow. This is a 30th anniversary reissue of a 1992 release on Record Store Day 2022. By the time I got to Vertigo records where I go on Record Store Day there was not much to choose from. I had to get something, so I picked this up. I did have a CD of theirs that I liked so I figured what the heck. I guess I didn’t look to closely at it to see that these are Rappers rapping to the Heavies music. The music is good with some great beats with drums, bass, guitar, sax and trumpet but I don’t like the rapping especially the angry ones, like “Death Threat” featuring Kool G. Rap, with lots of bad language. Two I did like were
“Jump ‘n’ Move” featuring Jamalski which is in another language so you didn’t know what they were saying and “Whatgabouthat” featuring a Jamaican rapper named Tiger. “Soul Flower” featuring The Pharcyde was another one that wasn’t too bad. The record is on orange vinyl and sounds nice and clear.
