Argent-In Deep

Their fourth album from 1973 when I bought it. The first track, “God Gave Rock And Roll To You”, written by Russ Ballard, was released as a single but did not chart. Kiss’s cover of it in 1991 reached number 21 on the Billboard charts. The next two “It’s Only Money Part 1 and 2” are two different songs with the same title. Both are rockers but Part 1 is heavier and another one that went on one of my early cassette tapes. Two longer songs on side two “Be Glad” and “Candles On The River” are more Progressive featuring Rod Argent’s keyboards. “Rosie”, the last song, sounds like a Faces song to me. Two ballads “Loosing Hold” and “Christmas For The Free” I never liked very much but still a good record. The gatefold cover is in fair shape, the record had one skip. Their next album Nexus I had on 8Track which was another good one. Might pick that one up on vinyl sometime. Ballard left after that record with Argent releasing two more records in 1975 before calling it quits.
