Another really old record, this was one of my earliest, bought in 1972. Their third album and the first I bought from this band. An edited version of “Hold Your Head Up” reached number 5 in the U.S. charts that year. “Keep On Rollin'” is a Boogie Woogie number followed by Russ Ballard’s rocking “Tragedy”. “I Am The Dance Of Ages” is the last song on side one. “Be My Lover, Be My Friend” is another rocker that begins side two. Another Russ Ballard song “He’s A Dynamo” is followed by the last track the 13 minute “Pure Love”. In four parts the first two are mostly Rod Argent noodling around on the organ with some classical themes. The third part “Pure Love” contains the vocals and some Blues style guitar from Ballard. I put this third part on one of my cassette tapes back in the day. The gatefold cover has a four page insert glued inside with bios and photos of the four band members plus a key to the identities of the people on the cover. The cover is in fair shape and the record sounds well played but no skips.
