Portishead-Third

Their third and final album from 2008, 11 years after their second. A different sound than their first two ,no Hip-Hop or turntable scratching. First time listening to this one which I bought a few years ago. Some songs are slow with a downtempo beat ,others can be rather jarring at times. Overall a different and interseting record. “We Carry On” I thought was quite good. If you take away the machine gun beat on “Machine Gun” and listen to Beth Gibbons singing it sounds like a traditional English Folk song. It’s a two record set played at 45 RPM. Unfortunatly record one is warped on the edge making te first song on each side unplayable. Bought at Barnes & Noble at 50 % off. Nothing else from the band since this although they have played live from time to time the last earlier this year.
