Last Saturday was Record Store Day and I bought two records both live albums. This Steely Dan reissue is one I bought on cassette in 1995. Never much for touring these shows from ’93 and ’94 were the first tours they did in 20 years. Fagen and Becker’s singing sounds good but many of the songs are slightly re-arranged with horns taking the place of guitars in some cases. Usually I like live recordings better than studio ones but with different players the songs sound too different from the studio tracks which to me are better. Still nice to hear these songs in this order and nice to have “Book Of Liars” from Becker’s solo album on here. Comes with an insert with liner notes. A nice pressing on these two records. I think I will save the other one I bought for a Saturday Progressive night.
