This single vinyl album is paired down from a 4 CD set that includes these alternate mixes plus demos concerts from 1971 including BBC shows and a remastered version of the original record. I bought this in 2023 at the record store in Kutztown the day it came out. Didn’t go there specifically for that record but saw it there and bought it. I was surprised that when I came to pay for it they gave me a record sized canvas tote bag with a picture of this cover on it. Nice! These mixes are not too different from the original album which I had taped of the radio in the late 70’s. The same musicians that would play on his next record Ziggy Stardust are used here as well as Rick Wakeman playing piano. Two of his better known songs “Changes” and “Life On Mars?” are on side one as well as “Quicksand” a song Dinosaur Jr. later covered. “Andy Warhol”, “Queen Bitch” and “Bewley Brothers” on side two are also good. These tracks are in the same running order as the original with the addition of “Bombers” on side two, one left off the original record. I always ment to buy the original 1971 release but this one seems just as good.
