Jethro Tull-Minstrel In The Gallery

Original

From 1975 this is the last new Tull album on vinyl I bought until the box set I bought in 1988. Generally a more rocking album than their two previous records. There is no sax on this one. Side one is what I always listened to,with the title track starting out acoustic then rocking out. Always a favorite. “Cold Wind To Valhalla” and “Black Satin Dancer” are also pretty good. The last song on the side “Requiem” is another familiar sounding Ian Anderson acoustic song. “One White Duck/O To The Power Of Ten = Nothing At All” is another acoustic number followed by the 16 and a half minute “Baker St. Muse” a more progressive song in the style of Thick as a Brick. I hardly ever listened to side one but it didn’t sound too bad. Overall a pretty good album. I never liked “Too Old to Rock ‘n’ Roll Too Young to Die” the single from their next album so I never bought it.
