I stopped in CD Exchange in Mohnton last month for the first time in about 8 months and found this Record Store Day leftover from 2023. These tracks are 4 outtakes from the On The Corner sessions recorded in 1972 and ’73. The record is on sky blue vinyl. Great Jazz/Funk/Rock with awesome rhythm with Michael Henderson’s bass and drums by Al Foster with 2 others playing ethnic percussion. Lots of sax by Dave Liebman and electric piano by Herbie Hancock. Guitars are by Reggie Lucas and Pete Cosey. Miles uses a wah-wah pedal on his trumpet. On The Corner was the last new music he put out until 1981. All music after that from the 70’s was either live albums or compilations and my favorite period of his. I guess I should buy that record sometime.
