Queens Of The Stone Age-Lullabies To Paralyze

This is one of their earlier albums from 2005. This is a 2019 reissue. This has more of a Metal sound than yesterday’s Villains record and I like this one better. Mark Lanegan, ex Screaming Trees sings on a few songs. Other guests include Jack Black, Shirley Manson and Billy Gibbons. The single “Little Sister” is a favorite. I also like “Burn The Witch” and “You Got A Killer Scene There, Man” two Blues flavored numbers with Gibbons playing guitar and vocals on “Burn The Witch”. “He also plays and sings on their cover of Z Z Top’s “precious And Grace”. If I had to pick one of the four sides labeled Once, You, Were & Here I would say the third side “Were” would be best with “Infinity”, “The Blood Is Love”, “Like A Drug”, that sounds a lot like “After Dark”, the song in the Dusk to Dawn movie played during Selma Hayek’s dancing scene with Gibbons again playing guitar, and “Skin On Skin”. Altogrther a good record and a good pressing.
