Well yesterday I was listening to some LCD Soundsystem and saw this record next to it. I don’t remember ever buying it and have certainly never listened to it. Land Of Talk are from Montreal and led by Elizabeth Powell. This is their fourth album from 2020 on the Saddle Creek label on red vinyl. I have one of their older songs on my playlist, I guess that’s why I bought this one. I’m glad I did. I thought every song was pretty good. Kind of Dream Pop sometimes a bit of an Ambient sound. Powell is the singer and songwriter and plays guitar and keyboards with bass and drums played by the two other members. Some are acoustic and Folky others like “Daiphanous” and “Look To You” use electric guitar. The title track is an instrumental with sax and flute with various phone conversations in the background. I have digital copies of their first album and an EP. They had a new one out in 2023 I might buy if I see it.
