The debut full length from this English band. Formed by Emma Anderson, Miki Berenyi, Chris Acland and a bassist, who was later replaced by another one. Released in 1992 this was another one I bought on cassette. This reissue came out in 2023 and is on clear vinyl. I also had their second album Split and Gala, a compilation of early EPs on cassette as well as the last recording Lovelife on CD. This is Dream Pop/Shoegaze music with Emma and Miki’s harmony vocals and swirling guitars sometimes sounding like The Cocteau Twins whose Robin Guthrie produced the album. All songs were good but “Tiny Smiles” and “Monochrome” were the ones I liked best. They broke up in ’96 after the suicide death by hanging of drummer Chris Acland. Would like to find Gala which was reissued last year.
