Lewis & Clarke-Triumvirate

Lewis and Clarke is the name used by Lou Rogai a songwriter singer and guitarist from the Delaware Water Gap area. From 2014, this is a Bit Torrent I downloaded around that time. I remember listening to a couple songs from it and liked them. Saw this two record edition on white vinyl at Young Ones at a 20% discount and bought it about four years ago. I have listened to the first record a few times. The music is beautiful and atmospheric with Rogai playing acoustic guitar and singing in a low voice. Guests play piano and organ violin and viola, drums and stand up bass. The first track the 10 minute “Eve’s Wing” was an instant favorite as was the first song on side 2, the 8 minute title track. Love the piano between the verses and some mellotron at the end. Those two are on my playlist. Record two sounded just as good with similar piano on “The Turning Sky”. “The Ascensionist”, another 8 minute song is also very good. Two more to put on my playlist. “Two Trees” has Rogai’s 6 year old son reading from a 1st grade reader over soft piano. The gatefold cover has lyrics inside and according to the liner notes was recorded in Hockessin, Delaware. A really good soothing record, I liked every song. He had an earlier LP and several EPs before thin but nothing but two singles since this record.
