I forgot I had one more Jam Band record to listen to. Although there are no long jams here they certainly play like one. With a 9 piece band including three horn players, bass, guitar by Scott Sharrard, keyboards and percussion by Marc Quinones a member of the last line-up of The Allman Brothers. Half of the songs performed are Allman Brothers songs slightly re-arranged with horns added. He sings his hit “I’m No Angel” one I always liked as well as the Jackson Browne song “These Days”. The instrumental “Hot ‘Lanta” features Gregg on the Hammond organ. Gregg’s vocals sound good on “Melissa” and “Midnight Rider” played back to back. “Whipping Post” has some decent slide guitar by Sharrard. The encore is “One Way Out” with Gregg’s son Devon (not the one with Cher) playing guitar and solos on drums, bass and sax. A lot of good music in a 90 minute concert. I did get to see Gregg and his band at the festival in Johnstown in 2011 just before he was hospitalized for respiratory problems. He died in 2017.
