This is a cheap CD reissue, probably $9.99. This is his second album from June of 1969. He is backed by the re-formed Bar-Keys after four members plus Otis Redding were killed in a plane crash in ’67. There are just four tracks on this 45 minute CD. The first two tracks or side on the record are Psychedelic Soul. “Walk On By” the Bacharach/David song was a hit for Dionne Warwick in 1963. This version starts off with some Psychedelic guitar and ends with some orchestration. “Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic” is a more Funky track with a long Jam of piano, bass and drums with Iassac adding some grunts and yells. The ast two tracks are Soul. “One Woman” is a ballad. A spoken introduction takes up about half of the 18 minute “By The Time I Get To Pheonix” and endsv with a long fadeout of horns and orchestra. I have played this a sew times and thought “Hyper…” was the best.
