The fourth album from The Patti Smith Group produced by Todd Rundgren. This 1979 album is one I got for free after joining the Columbia House Record Club for the third time in 1981 when I was living in an apartment in Claymont shortly after meeting my future wife who moved in the three bedroom apartment I shared with a good friend and his wife plus various other people who came and went. The first three songs on side one are three of her best all released as singles. “Frederick” is a song about Fred”Sonic” Smith, her future husband, who had been in The MC5. “Dancing Barefoot” and the much covered Byrds song “So You Want To Be A (Rock And Roll Star)” are the next two songs. “Revenge” the last song on side one is a Blues flavored song. I never played side two much but “Seven Ways Of Going” is another Rock/Blues song while “Wave” is another mostly spoken word song with background music that could be called New Age. The last record recorded with her band.
