They are a trio from L.A. The Singer Matt Lowell has a voice that sounds just like Mark Hollis from the band Talk Talk that was active in the 80’s. I first heard the song “This Is It” in 2018 and thought it was a Talk Talk song. Saw the album in a record store in West Chester. Never got around to listening to this one. After listening to it although it’s hard not to think of Talk Talk, the music is more like a Popier sounding New Order. The band is made up of Lowell,Crisanta Baker on bass and keyboards and Samuel Stewart,the son of David Stewart of Eurythmics and Siobhan Fahey of Bannanarama, on guitar. Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie was involved in some of the production and mixing. Among the Thank You’s(I always read them as well as all the liner notes)are WXPN where I first heard the song “This Is It” and Adam and War On Drugs(The Philly Band). The record sounds pretty good. Another one that deserves more playing.
