Strictly a Hard Rock album, only &#8220;My Fairy King&#8221; with Freddie Mercury&#8217;s operetic vocals gave a hint at what would be a big part of their sound. &#8220;Keep Yourself Alive&#8221;,&#8221;Doin&#8217; All Right&#8221;,and &#8220;Great King Rat&#8221; all on side one are three of their best songs. Another one starts off side two. &#8220;Liar&#8221; was the first song I heard from them on the radio. &#8220;Modern Times Rock &#8216;n&#8217;Roll&#8221; was written by drummer Roger Taylor. My original record dissapeared a long time ago (late 70&#8217;s), finally got around to buying a 2009 reissue on Hollywood Records. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Their first abum and one I bought when it came out in 1973.
