American Chrissie Hynde moved to London and was involved in the Punk scene before forming The Pretenders  with three musicians from Hereford,James Honeyman-Scott,Pete Farndon,and Martin Chambers. . I bought this record in 1980 while living in an apartment in Claymont Delaware. The first song I heard from them was the single &#8220;Brass In Pocket&#8221; on the radio when I was living en West Wilmington. Lots of great songs on this record. &#8220;Precious&#8221; and &#8220;Tatooed Love Boys&#8221; are two agressive songs with great live versions on the 1979 album The Concert For Kampuchea. &#8220;Stop Your Sobbing&#8221; is A Kinks cover and &#8220;The Wait&#8221; is another rocker. Side two starts with &#8220;Kid&#8221; a more mellow song followed by the reggae influenced &#8220;Private Life&#8221;. &#8220;Brass In Pocket&#8221; is followed by another slower song &#8220;Lovers Of Today&#8221; and te record closes with the amazing &#8220;Mystery Achievement&#8221; The most rocking song on the record with Honeyman-Scott playing some great guitar.
