A great song. I bought this 1972 album shortly after that. This is the first record from this Country\/Folk singer. Other than the title track and &#8220;Crack Up In Las Cruces&#8221; I didn&#8217;t really like any of the other songs so I rarely listened to it back then.Listening to it now it&#8217;s not too bad with a couple of the songs having a Gospell sound to them.In his liner notes Murphey says he was writing songs for Screen Gems in the 60&#8217;s and one of the songs &#8220;What Am I Doing Hanging Around?&#8221; was recorded by The Monkees and is also on this record. &#8220;Calico Silver&#8221; with its piano backing reminded me of &#8220;Wildfire&#8221; his big hit from 1975.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I heard &#8220;Geronimo&#8217;s Cadillac&#8221; on AM radio where it was a Top 40 hit.
