This was their best seller and my favorite. A double album, this has a wide range of styles and sounds. Side one has the soul of &#8220;Have You Ever Been(To Electric Ladyland)&#8221; and &#8220;Crosstown Traffic&#8221; and the nearly 15 minute blues jam &#8220;Voodoo Chile&#8221; with Steve Winwood playing organ and Jack Cassidy on bass. &#8220;Burning Of The Midnight Lamp&#8221; has his wah-wah pedal in good use and side three is a 17 minute suite of three songs that all flow together with the 13 minute &#8220;1983(A Merman I Should Turn To Be)&#8221; the centerpiece with Chris Wood playing some flute. Side four ends with two of his best songs &#8220;Dylan&#8217;s &#8220;All Along The Watchtower&#8221; and &#8220;Voodoo Child(Slight Return)&#8221;. Another amazing record from Hendrix and one I bought new in the early 80&#8217;s.
