Another one of my favorite bands, I had all the Sonic youth albums on cassette but sold them all in 2013. A few years later they were reissued on vinyl and I bought them all but this is one I could never find in the stores. Finally ordered this from Amazon a few years ago. A double album with a gatefold cover this reissue is from 2015 the twentieth anniversary of it’s original release. More great Punk/Rock/Noise Rock from them. As usual Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon are speaking as well as singing with Moore and Lee Renaldo playing guitar with Gordon also playing guitar instead of bass on a couple tracks. “Becuz” is a great rocker, “Little Trouble Girl” has a 50’s girl group sound. The 9 minute title track has some great guitar soloing before a spacey fadeout. The 20 minute “Diamond Sea” has a couple mellow acoustic verses sung by Moore with sections of guitar noise, feedback and other sounds in between. Interestingly Moore can be heard singing hello 2015 a couple of times at the end of “Skip Tracer” which also has background vocals by Kim Deal of The Pixies.
