I bought this CD in 1998 when it came out (which I still have) and this two record vinyl release on Record Store Day 2017. I must admit I have never listened to either of them yet. According to the liner notes written by Wales he was asked to put together jam sessions on Monday nights at The Matrix in San Francisco in 1970. Jerry Garcia was one of the first musicians he asked to participate. John Kahn and Bill Vitt, who also played in The Jerry Garcia Band, played the bass and drums. There are four jams on here ranging from 9 minutes to 24. Mostly a vehicle for Wales’s Hammond organ and electric piano, played in a more Jazz style, Jerry plays some great guitar throughout. Sometime sounding a bit like the Grateful Dead but even Jerry plays in a more Jazz Fusion style than the Psychedelic style the Grateful Dead were playing at the time. Another great sounding recording and pressing on Grateful Dead Records.
