The second album released by Wobbler. From 2009 this is a 2021 reissue on blue vinyl. Another record with a Bosch-like cover painted by their keyboard player. As explained by some German dude in the liner notes from 2021, the two long songs were demos made in 1999. They re-recorded them for this record along with three short instrumentals (the record is only 33 minutes long). Side one starts with “The Haywain” a short classical sounding piece followed by the 15 minute “Imperial Winter White”. This is the only song with lyrics sung by their original singer. (I’m glad he was replaced). Some great Hammond organ solos with changing moods and tempos. Side two is all instrumental with the 13 minute “In Taberna”, having parts that sound like every 70’s Progressive band you can think of, sandwiched in between “Interlude” an acoustic number and “Armoury” sounding like something from the Renaissance period. My least favorite of the five albums I have from them. Last new record from them was in 2020. Hope they have more coming out although two members have been involved with The Chronicles of Father Robin that I listened to last month.
