A six piece band from Norway, a Prog Supergroup with members coming from four different bands. The nucleus of this project started in the late 90’s when Andreas W. S. Prestmo, Jon Andre Nilsen and Henrik Harmer were in a short lived band named Fanghorn. They talked about writing songs around a character named Father Robin. They went their separate ways with Prestmo eventually becoming the singer in Wobbler. Those three plus three others got together a few years ago to make these records. It’s some kind of fantasy story about Father Robin who makes things grow but is killed and then taken to a city under the sea and revived. These are two separate records that came out in 2023 with the first dealing with the forest, the second with the sea. Book 3 came out in 2024 and completes the trilogy with Father Robin taken into the air. I have not seen that one yet. These are all Imports from Norway and I bought these two at Record Connection in Ephrata. The music is more old school Progressive Rock with parts reminding me of Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, and Camel. Wobblers keyboard player Lars Fredrick Froislie plays on a few tracks. The music is very similar to Wobbler, but a little more mellow and Folky. I have never heard of the other three bands these artists come from. The artwork and packaging of these records is nice. Both come with an insert with lyrics and the record sleeves have a map of Airoea where this story takes place and the other side relates the story as told in each song. The pressings are good. First time listening to these which I bought last month. It all sounds really good, Looking forward to Book 3.
