Ash Ra Temple-Schwingungen

The second album from this Krautrock band. From 1972 this is a German reissue from 2021. It has the original promo/review insert written in German. With the departure of Klaus Schulze, a new drummer was added. There are two tracks on this record both around 19 minutes and both in two parts. “Light And Darkness” features vocalist John L. whose out of tune singing and screaming brings to mind the two singers from Can. Thy first part “Light: Look At Your Sun”, is a Bluesy guitar jam by Manuel Gottsching with some vocals in German. The second part “Darkness: Flowers Must Die” has vocals in English but are hardly understandable because they are mostly screamed and overpowered by guitar, bass and drums and sax. “Schwingungen” on side two is divided into two parts. The first “Suche” has some quiet electronic and vibe sounds much like Tangerine Dream before the second part “Liebe” adds drums and then some weird sounds reminding me of Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” before more guitar. Another good spacey Psychedelic record. Lyrics are on the inside of the gatefold cover as well as liner notes.
