Cream-Royal Albert Hall

A reunion concert at The Royal Albert Hall, the venue where they played their last show in November of 1968. Although they did play a 3 song set at their induction to the hall of fame in 1993, these 4 nights in London were the first full shows they played since ’68. A used 3 record set I bought a few years ago for $30. On the Music On Vinyl label, it’s in like new condition with a poster of the cover included. I did buy the CD in 2005 when it came out but of course it was sold in 2013. All three sound in fine form with Clapton laying down some great solos, none very long, and Jack Bruce’s bass and vocals are good, playing harmonica on a couple songs. Ginger Baker does a long drum solo on “Toad” not too energetic, but he was 66 at the time. They play their classic Blues covers, “Spoonful”, “Crossroads”, “Rollin’ And Tumblin'”, Stormy Monday” and “Born Under A Bad Sign” as well as some of their own classics, “Badge”, “White Room”. “I’m So Glad” and “Sunshine Of Your Love”. Also included on here is one of my personal favorites “We’re Going Wrong”. A good recording and pressing. Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce have since passed away.
