The final live album by The Stooges, who along with fellow Michigan band MC5 were early Punk style bands in the late 60’s. The Stooges had many break-ups and re-formations with Iggy Pop releasing many solo albums. This show was recorded in 2010 at the All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival held in Sullivan County New York. This record contains the first part of the show playing their third album Raw Power in its entirety. Iggy is joined by original members James Williamson and Scott Asheton with Mike Watt of The Minutemen playing bass. This sounds like a bootleg recording with Iggy’s voice in the back of the mix with the guitar up front, still it doesn’t sound too bad. “Search And Destroy”, “Shake Appeal” and “Penetration” were songs I knew. I had the first release on CD and Funhouse, the second, on vinyl but never heard the Raw Power record. This was released on Record Store Day 2011 but re-issued in 2021. I found this at FYE for $1.99. I couldn’t pass that up. It’s a decent pressing.
