A live album recorded with the line-up with Chuck Leavell on keyboards and Lamar Williams on bass. These tracks were recorded from 1972 to ’75 at various venues. This was released in 1976 after the band had broken up with Leavell and Williams forming Sea Level and Betts and Allman forming their own bands. There is less jamming on this than on any of their other live albums with Dickie Betts the only guitarist for the first time. They stretch it out only on the two instrumentals “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed”, with Leavell’s keyboards giving it a Jazzy touch, and “Jessica”. The singing by Gregg and Dickie is not that strong although Dickies guitar playing is good as ever. My least favorite of their records I have. The band reformed in 1979 with guitarist Dan Toler and bassist David Goldflies who had been in Dickie Betts’s band Great Southern. They put out three albums before breaking up again in 1982. I haven’t heard of any live material from this phase of the band. Reforming again in 1990 with the addition of Warren Haynes on guitar and vocals and bassist Allen Woody and Wilmington, Delaware native Johnny Neel on keyboards, they really hit their stride jamming like they did in their early days.
