Released in 1973 this is a return to more Rock oriented songs after several mostly instrumental Jazz Rock albums. I originally bought this record in the mid 70’s but as I have said before I sold all my Zappa records when I was living in Philly. This one is one of the re-issues that came out in 2013 on Zappa Records. The Mothers on this record are Ruth and Ian Underwood, George Duke, Jean-Luc Ponty and Bruce and Tom Fowler. Tina Turner and The Ikettes provide background vocals on most of the tracks but are uncredited. Side one starts with “Camarillo Brillo” one of their more well-known songs followed by “I’m The Slime” about the garbage on television. “Fifty-Fifty” has some jamming on violin by Ponty. Side two is what I listened to most “Zombie Woof” has a good guitar solo. The final two songs are my favorites. The delightful, Funky, but very dirty, “Dinah-Moe Hum” is another frequently heard on the radio as is “Montana” one of their best loved songs. Always a favorite back then I loved to play air guitar to the awesome solo in it. An excellent sounding re-issue made from the original analog masters. It comes with a poster of the cover.
