Clutch-Weathermaker Vault Series

I had heard of Clutch before but never their music until a co-worker played some of their music at work about 5 years ago. This record came out around that time (2021) and I bought it. Clutch is from the D.C. metro area and was formed in the early 90’s. This record is an excellent collection of their Stoner Rock, Hard Rock and Blues. These are re-recordings of songs from earlier records that were issued as digital singles in 2019 and 2020 as well as several covers. I have listened to side one quite a few times since buying it. “Passive Restraints” has new vocals by the Lamb Of God singer, a great rocker as is “Electric Worry”. “Run John Barleycorn Run” is a great take on the traditional Folk song and my favorite on the record. Side one closes with two covers, “Evil” a Willie Dixon song and C.C.R.’s “Fortunate Son”. Side two has two more covers “Algo Ha Cambiado” from a 70’s band from Argentina sung in Spanish and Z.Z. Top’s “Precious And Grace”. “Spacegrass”, “Willie Nelson” and “Smoke Banshee” are re-recordings of older songs. A really great record and of course I had to buy more of their records. Six more in the last 4 years but I did not care for two of them and they are currently in my trade-in pile. The other four I will be playing in the next 4 days.
