Ten Years After-Recorded Live

Earlier this year I saw a notice on the bulletin board at Sheets saying a guy was selling records at his home in Adamstown so I went and checked it out. Heh ad the usual stuff, nothing out of the ordinary, but I did buy two records, this one for $3 and another one for $2 that I will listen to tomorrow. This double album came out in 1973 and this is an original pressing. These tracks were recorded in Frankfort, Paris and Amsterdam. There is lots of jamming on these Blues Rock songs featuring Alvin Lee’s distinctive guitar playing first heard on the Woodstock soundtrack record and the movie. That song “I’m Going Home ” appears on side 4 of this record. “You Give Me Loving” on side one is good. Also on that side is “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl” played a little faster than The Grateful Dead. “Hobbit” on side two is a long drum solo. A couple slow Blues are here. “Help Me” on side 2 has an organ solo. On side 4 it’s “Slow Blues In ‘C”. Side 3 is 18 minutes of the Al Kooper song “I Can’t Keep From Cryin’ Sometimes” with more jamming on guitar and organ. Surprisingly their hit “I’d Love To Change The World” is not on here. The records sound good with limited pops and crackles and no skips. The cover is in better shape than mine from that period.
