Demons & Wizards is a side project of Hansi Kursch the singer of Blind Guardian and Jon Schaffer, guitarist of Iced Earth. Not a big Heavy Metal fan but it’s fun to listen to once in a while. I had a couple hundred Heavy Metal CDs and cassettes including ones from Blind Guardian and Iced Earth as well as the first CD from Demons & Wizards. This is another discounted record from FYE that was $10 because of a bent corner. It’s a three sided record on blue vinyl with an etching of the back cover on side 4. This is typical Metal sounding like Blind Guardian with layered vocals by the seven background vocalists listed in the liner notes. Schaffer plays all the instruments except drums and a couple guest guitarists. Not a bad record, I liked “Invincible”, “Timeless Spirit” and “New Dawn” the best. Schaffer was involved in the Jan. 6th protests and was charged with a felony. Their label dropped the band after that making this the last record from Demons & Wizards. I have a few more Heavy Metal records to get to before this is over.
