I decided to listen to this one tonight because the cover was similar to yesterday’s record by Lunatic Soul. The music is not unlike some of the Lunatic Soul record as some have an atmospheric sound making heavy use of synthesizers and electronics but all instrumental. Another $5 record bought at the FYE store at the mall. This is the soundtrack for a film by Irish director Mark Cousins called Atomic, Living In Dread And Promise. The music is typical of what Mogwai was playing at that time. Many of these tracks remind me of music from their 2021 release As The Love Continues. The tracks have Atomic Energy related titles like “Fat Man”, “Little Boy”, “U-235”, “Scram”, a kill switch to shut down a reactor, and “Pripyat” an abandoned town near Chernobyl. This 2 record set is 49 minutes long and was released in 2016. I can do without this one since I have a record from 2011 and the two that came after this one. I also recently bought their first two albums and I will be listening to them sometime in the future. I should at least get my $5 back in a trade in.
