Although this came out in 2021 I don’t think I have listened to it yet. This is his 17th album after leaving the Country Rock band Whiskeytown. In 2019 he was accused of sexual abuse from several women including his ex-wife Mandy Moore delaying the release of the record. Most of these songs, which are sparse and acoustic seem to be apologies for his actions. “I’m Sorry And I Love You”, “Who Is Going To Love Me Now If Not You”, “Poison And Pain” Wednesdays” and “So, Anyway” are all rather depressing and sad as is “Mamma” a song about a mother leaving her son to die. Reading the lyrics to “When You Cross Over” they seemed very familiar but not the tune. I’m sure I heard a cover of that song recently but can’t remember it. I don’t really care for this record or Ryan Adams for that matter. I had seven of his records but have sold three of them. This will probably be sold also but I do like the cover which is part of a painting by a French artist from the 1800’s. I do like his cover of Taylor Swifts 1989 album though.
from the 1800’s.
