Originally released on CD in 2018, this vinyl edition came out on Record Store Day 2023 on blue vinyl. This is composed of A and B-side singles and 2 album cuts from their two releases. The six songs on side one are all from the U.S. version of the record Virgins and Philistines that came out in 1984 and one I listened to back in 2020. Five of the songs were also on side one of that record with the Roches “Hammond Song” on side two. Side two of this record also has one from Virgins and Philistines, a cover of “I Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby” a song also covered by The Four Seasons and ? Mark and the Mysterians. “Windmills Of My Mind” is from the soundtrack of The Thomas Crown Affair from 1968. Also covered by Dusty Springfield and Jose Feliciano. I could do without that one. There are two more covers on side two, one by Sly Stone “Running Away” and the Boyce/Hart song “She” a hit for the Monkees in the 60’s. The final song is a track from their 1987 album Distraction called “From Dawn To Distraction”. Since the best songs from Virgins and Philistines were all on side one it was a no brainer to buy this record because that record, over 40 years old is a little worn.
