Birth-Born

Another Progressive Rock band. One that came out last year that I bought about two weeks ago. This is old school Prog from the 70’s, rather than the heavier Prog sound of Haken or Porcupine Tree I listened to earlier. This is the first release from this California band. Keyboard man Conor Riley and guitarist Brian Ellis had been in a band caller Astra while drummer Paul Marrone is from Radio Moscow whose live album I have. First time listening to this. The two instrumentals “Born” and “Cosmic Tears” have plenty of mellotron and guitar. The other four songs sounded pretty good to me but maybe not as good as The Tangent or Wobbler, a band I just discovered earlier this year and whose records I will be listening to in a while. Reviewers on Progarchives all loved it so I guess I will give it another listen sometime. They also mentioned how hard it is to put the record and sleeve into the pocket of the heavy cardboard cover. I had this problem also.
