Well, I’m down to the Zs Just three more to go. My last post will be Sept. 1st because when I started this I was working second shift and I got off work a 12:30 and 2:30 when I worked 10 hour days for a couple years. When I listened to my record after work I still thought of it as the day I went into work but when I posted it it was actually the next day. When I retired I kept the same process so I’m actually a day behind. Joe Zawinul was a member of Weather Report and other Jazz combos. This 2 disc set was recorded in his hometown of Vienna over 5 nights in 2004 with a 6 to 9 piece band. This sounds more Like World Music than Jazz. Most of the songs have vocals but none are in English. Some sound like an African language others Middle Eastern. Lots of chants and other voices. Not much soloing going on, everyone seems to be playing at once. I listened to disc 1 and most of disc 2. I didn’t care for most of it.
