The Waterboys were formed by Mike Scott, Anthony Thistlethwaite and Karl Wallinger in the early 80’s. Wallinger left after their third album to start his own band World Party. This compilation came out in 1998. The music ranges from Rock to Folk to Celtic music. There are a lot of good songs on this CD. “A Girl Called Johnny” is one I knew from the 80’s that I taped off the radio. It’s on my playlist. “Fisherman’s Blues” the title track from that album is also good. I had that one on cassette or CD . I can’t remember but any any rate I don’t have it anymore. “Pan Within” and a sequel “The Return Of Pan” are other ones in a more Rock vain. “Red Army Blues” features Thistlethwaite’s sax. “The Whole Of The Moon” from their third release is another one that will go on my playlist. The bans still exists with Mike Scott the only constant member. They last put out a recording in 2025.
