This is a band fronted by Dave Shouse of the Grifters and Joan Wasser of The Dambuilders who later recorded as Joan as Police Woman. The second and final release after one in 1996 featuring Shouse and a different line up than this one. This was recorded in 1997 shortly after the drowning death of Tim Buckley who was Joan Wasser’s lover and Shouse’s friend. Buckley’s guitarist Michael Tighe and Kevin March, also of The Dambuilders are also in the band. Another CD I bought knowing nothing about the band and one I have never listened to. I would call this Alternative music, Shouse has a good voice and is complimented by Wasser’s background vocals. She also plays violin which is a nice addition to some of the songs. Pretty much all good songs, I really liked “The Last Thing I Ever Wanted To Do Was Show Up And Blow Your Mind”, “Curious State”, “Telegraph” and “Remembering Sophie Rhodes”. The last two will go on my playlist.
