Third Ear Band are a four piece band from London. This is their second album originally released in 1970. Another used CD I bought at the store in Exeter. There are four instrumental tracks on here: “Air”, “Earth”, “Fire” and Water” each around 9 minutes long. The music could be described as Progressive, World Music or Avant-Garde. The music is made by just four instruments: violin, cello, oboe and percussion. Three of the tracks are pretty mellow with a Middle Eastern sound with ethnic Indian percussion. The one exception is “Earth” which is a little more aggressive with music that sounds more like traditional Folk music from the U.K.
