Television Personalities-Yes Darling, But Is It Art?

A compilation of singles and rare tracks from this London band whose only constant member is Dan Treacy. Another one of my earliest CD purchases, this is from 1995. This is Punk, 60’s Pop, and a little New Wave, but very English and sometimes a little silly. Many songs have references to local London locations and culture. There are lots of good songs among the 24 on here. “Oxford St.”, “Part Time Punks”, “Where’s Bill Grundy Now?” with a tease of The Association’s “Windy” at the beginning, “Posing At The Roundhouse”, “King And Country”, taking some guitar lines from “Eight Miles High”, “That’s What Love Is”, “How I Learned To Love The Bomb” and “She’s Only The Grocer’s Daughter” are all good quirky songs. 79 minutes is about as much as you can put on a CD and it’s well worth the time to listen to it. Treacy had surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain and hs been inactive since then.
