The Tea Party-Splendor Solis

A trio from Windsor Canada. Their second release which contains many re-recorded songs from their first independent release. The music is 70’s Rock sounding at times like Led Zeppelin with Jeff Martin’s vocals similar to Jim Morrison’s. Some songs also have a Middle-Eastern flavor with the use of sitar, tablas and djembe. Every song on this CD is good. Four are on my playlist: “The River”, with that Middle-Eastern sound, “Midsummer Day” a primarily acoustic number, “A Certain Slant Of Light” with Jeff’s haunting vocals and an intense chorus and “Sun Going Down” , a Bluesy song reminiscent of Zeppelin’s
When The Levee Breaks” or “In My Time Of Dying”. “Winter Solstice” is an acoustic guitar solo that sounds like Jimmy Page and “Save Me” another good song has Jeff Martin playing his guitar with a bow. Really like this CD and another one I would like to find on vinyl. Not to be confused with the U.S. political movement.
