A compilation of B-Sides, live tracks and remixes by Sugar, Bob Moulds band he formed after the break-up of Husker Du. The band comprised Malcom Travis on drums and David Barbe, who later recorded and produced most albums by the Drive-By Truckers, on bass. Never been a big fan of Husker Du and I don’t like Mould’s singing although I do have two of his solo records. Not sure why I bought this CD. The first track “Needle Hits E” is one that’s on one of my Rock and Roll Tunes cassette tapes and the second track “If I Can’t Change Your Mind” is one heard on the radio. Of the other 15 tracks the seven live ones, recorded in Chicago and Husker Du’s home base of Minneapolis, were the best. His singing gets pretty intense on live songs like “J C Auto”, which seems to be a rant against Christianity, and “Explode And Make Up” with some decent guitar by Mould.
