The eighth album from Walter Becker and Donald Fagan released in 2000, 20 years after their last Gaucho. I don’t like this CD. It sounds too much like smooth Jazz or Dance music. Doesn’t compare to any of their great albums from the 70’s or even the lesser Gaucho from 1980. 7 of the 9 tracks use some combination of brass and woodwind instruments with little of the Rock sounds of earlier recordings. Yeah, they’re older but older musicians can still rock out. The album won four Grammys (must have been a bad year for music). They put out one more in 2003 that I haven’t heard. Becker died in 2017 from cancer. A far better album is his 11 Tracks of Whack from 1994. Looking for a vinyl copy of that.
