Their fourth release and a great one. From 2003 the first six tracks are killer and I have listened to them many times. The music is more aggressive and singer Caithlin De Marrais’s vocals are more forceful. Lots of good guitar work from Kaia Fischer. The frantic pace of “Mystery And Misery”, “Long Knives” and “Ears Ring” contrast nicely with the slightly toned down “Double Life” and “The Awful Truthy Of Loving”. “The Imperatives” falls somewhere in between. Lots of hooks. The final three songs don’t compare but “Situation Relation”, an acoustic number, brings a nice mellow close to the CD. I have CD number three A Better Version of Me but have never listened to it. Maybe someday. They released one more in 2006 before breaking up. Reunited in 2017 for one more album.
