One of my favorite female singer songwriters this is her second release from 1996. Love her mix of Folk and Electronic music. Many great songs on this CD. “She Cries Your Name” co-written by then boyfriend William Orbit appears as a more dance oriented version on her first release produced by Orbit. “Tangent” has some nice electronic touches. “Touch Me with Your Love” is another good one but is surpassed by the more emotional version on her Best Bit EP, recorded solo with Beth singing and playing acoustic guitar on the radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic. “Someone’s Daughter” is another favorite. I also like “Live As You Dream”. “I wish I Never Saw The Sunshine” is a Phil Spector song and was recorded by The Ronettes. The ten minute “Galaxie Of Emptiness” is another gem with a spacey electronic sound. The recording has had a couple re-issues on vinyl and I saw this and Central Reservation at a record store in Bloomsburg last month but I decided to by a Yo Le Tengo album instead. If I see any of those records around here I will buy them.
